![]() It's not really a big deal to go grab a nightly version and update PCSX2 manually, but just having a baked-in updater like DuckStation's would be so, so handy. PCSX2 can already shunt VU tasks off onto another thread (MTVU), and the software renderer now allows for multithreading, but given the PS2's crazy architecture, I'm not sure how feasible multithreading is beyond that. To clarify, though, PCSX2 is already one of my favorite emulators out there, and it's shown incredible growth in the last several years.Įdit: I also want to bring a bit of attention to this pull request from CookiePLMonster, which, from an outsider's perspective, seems really promising. These are ordered from what I think is most important to least important. These are my own, ranging from things I think PCSX2 should definitely have to things that would make PCSX2 a fantastic, super feature-rich emulator. Given PCSX2's recent strides (doing away with plugins, adding Vulkan, creating a 64-bit version, refactoring, significant optimization, ongoing improvements to PSX backward compatability, custom textures, software renderer multithreading, etc.), I'm interested to hear what others are really hoping to see from this emulator going forward.
